You are right Jenny--It is best not to tell him about the Brug--He will go bonkers and tear the last of his hair out! (Sorry FB-I know you will take that in good humour) I have done absolutelty nothing in the garden today-just had a 'nose' around picked up some litter that had blown/thrown in. No watering needed after all that rain. Half day off Jenny? How do you manage that?-On the Sicky or just felt like it because you are your own Boss? She is dead idle Biggs, always taking time off, never seen anything like it,to behave like that in my days, you would not survive If anything happens to that Brug, she is in big trouble ;D

I have done absolutely nothing again in the garden because the weather has been heavy showers on and off all day. Hope you enjoyed your half day Jenny--I bet you didn't get out into the garden-and dont forget to Look after that Brug- ;D

Once again--I have done nothing in the garden today apart from de-heading and watching the flowers grow! Although we have had Showers the Containers still need watering-especially the ones I have in the Terracotta Containers- I should have soaked them first before I planted up--I was goiven this 'Tip' from LG but it was too late to do anything about it then--Nevermind I will do next time I get more Terracotta Containers or just put the Plastic pot into the Terracotta one. I bought a 'Set of Three' from B&Q for £7 which I thought was a Bargain. The largest one was 18" then 12" and last 7"--

Well Biggs I have got myself up of my b-- and yesterday weeded and cut back my Camellia managed to pull some brambles that have appeared from behind the greenhouse!! Im going to have to do it properly though dress in trousers tucked in wellies gloves sleeves the lot! but \ill wait till the back end I think! Ive taken the lower branches off my Winter cherry as they were very wispy with leaves just at the ends of the twigs! the tree must be 14' tall now so I had to get the steps to saw the thicker branches, its looking better now anyway.
My pots badly need watering but I thought it was going to belt down I brought my washing in and it passed over! tomorrows another day Il water then if it doesnt rain to-night.

There is nothing worse than Brambles when they over-grow-and the blooming roots take some getting out too!.Good Luck with them--It keeps threatening with rain I only wish it would have a good downpour and get out of the way.

I cant tell where the brambles are originating from Biggs! there is on about 12" space at the side of the greenhouse and the fence between the two gardens! and the space is chocablock with climbers and I cant get behind I just clip with the secaters and pull I bet the roots have been there since before these bungalows were built.

Maggs--Is it worth spraying them with Systemic Tumbleweed? Sprayed on the Brambles it works through the plants system and will kill the roots eventually. It doesn't affect the soil so any of your/and neighbour's other plants will definately be alright.Worth a try--Most GCs sell it.

Sorry LG I cant help you with the ID--I am hopeless at that sort of thing! It looks so pretty aswell--Is it an annual or Perenial or cant you remember? OB is usually good at identifying plants but he doesn't post much now just has a 'Look in' now and again though so he might just see this Post. Isn't this weather awful? Are you getting all this rain we are having and it still looks as though the sky is full?? I know it saves watering but spoils it for doing jobs in the garden-- I hope your 'fracture' has healed well and there are no more follow-up appointments--Take care--Biggs

That's the trouble Biggles, I sowed some seeds and this is what appeared. I cosseted them and planted them out but they're not what was expected. I'd be really happy if anyone could help. The weather truely is abysmal is'nt it. So much for our long hot summer. My fracture is taking longer than we'd thought to heal but I'm getting there slowly. Follow up end of August. Thank you for asking.

It looks like a mini version of a type of Monarda

Oh does it JW, it's ment to be Monarda AstAstromontana, but folk tell me it's nothing like it. I'd dearly love to know what it is. The seeds came from T&M. I've still got some and will sow some more to see what appears.
