Ive been washing but I went in the garden while I was waiting to hang out. Ive dug my leek bed and spread some compost and organic pellets dug them in so somebody doesnt try to eat them : put the box in position, Ill have to remove some more daffs; but Ill wait till their finished flowering, Ive stood my leeks in the boxes inside of it and covered them with old freezer trays ( I dont throw anything out) Ive also put my lilies outside as they are coming on too quick in the greenhouse!! I hope we dont get a frost!! and Ive stood my salad leaves out now. I dont know if I dare risk my ginger plant it would be a shame to loose it now after putting up with it in the conservatory all winter. I wish I dare put my lemon tree out as well! thats taking up a lot of room!! I now have an aching back!! ;D

Poor you Maggy, I know very well what an aching back is like. Maybe a nice hot bath will help. Today in the garden I went round and deadheaded all the pansies and primula, all the better to prolong their flowering time. I planted the Anemone which I'd soaked for about 30 hours into a big pot by the front door which I have the clematis Piilu starting to climb and I've also got some pansies there too. Hope they do well for me, they're lovely flowers.

Cant have a bath LadyG I dont have one!! just a walk in shower! I do miss my soaks though I just have to stand with the heat on my back for a while.

After sorting the car out--I spent the rest of the afternoon just pottering round the garden-- I was given a 'plant' (dont know the name) last Autumn and have found it is 'popping' up all over the place--It has long underground runners--which then root--I will have to get rid of this otherwise it is going to take over!! I have 'Spot Weeded' it so fingers crossed --

Oh dear that's not good, especially for a small garden is it. I wonder what it is Biggles. All I did today was use the watering can to water the seeds of beetroot and onion and shallot sets and carrots. The ground is drying up already, today was very warm and sunny here.

Such a shame JW, Wisteria are truely lovely plants. For some reason they're not seen much here in Northern Ireland.

Well yesterday, I potted on 160 Impatiens! I'm running out of room. I also planted some more tomatoes and chillies just in case the others aren't any good. Although most of the other toms have now germinated, chillies/peppers haven't.

The wisteria was next to my house on the wall and i fear I didnt water it enough in the very dry weather we had last year - my downfall - dont water, dont feed Today I actually watered my new sweet pea plugs and then shortly after it started to rain I cant win

I was given this plant by a neighbour--I mentioned it before (not sure which thread) where it is now 'popping up' from the parent plant with underground creeping roots-- I dont know what it is called but it does grown about 2'6" high with yellow flowers. I am having to 'Spot Weed it' and will dig up the parent plant. Lesson learnt--Dont plant unless sure of Final growth and what it is called. It might even be a "Triffid"- ;D

Potted on some of my bigger seedlings, sowed my hellebore seeds and did a bit more nettle and bramble digging up. Noticed my potatoes are just beginning to poke their heads up! Oh, and dead headed some of the daffodils.

Did more nettle and bramble digging up before it began to pour with rain. I've got an idea for a wild life pond in the bit I'm digging over at the moment - there's an article in this week's AG which got me thinking....

I had to water my pots they were all drooping! Ive got some lovely salad leaves to pick to-morrrow they look better than the supermarket ones. Ive been looing and wondering what to do with some mesameranthum (sp) seedlings I usually sow them straight ito the bed I dont know what possessed me to put them in a plant pot I dont fancy pricking these out.

I'm not keen on pricking out Maggy - I worry about damaging the seedlings. Have sown most things this year 1 seed to a fibre pot. It's a bit of a waste if nothing comes up. Have just got back from a friend's garden - she is away on holiday and doesn't ever garden - so every now and again I go and have a bit of a sort out. I pruned her roses, bit late I know, but they haven't been pruned for 2 or 3 years and they were just leaves on the end of very long sticks. I planted up a herb pot for her - been meaning to do that for ages - her empty herb planter had been 'eaten' by the passion flower which needs beating into submission but that's a job for her OH. He's good at pruning things - he strimmed their tomatoes last year just as the flowers appeared. I also sorted out her pots - it's the only time they get a feed and a weed! Now need to get out in my garden and get on with the digging.

I also topped the compost up a bit. I dead headed the daffs and did a bit of weeding. I was just going to scatter some feed about and when I looked down mischief was with me !! so I thought Id better wait till he is inside preocuppied or he would think I was scattering something for him to eat.

Jess has always come out with me whenever I have had gardening to do Maggy. She isn't any bother at all now she is older. Here she is a few weeks ago... ...but when she was younger she kept dropping the ball by my foot so we had to garden a bit, then play ball for a bit and so on! It's sounds as though Teddy is better which is good news.
