Thanks BM they do indeed smell delicious. I'd say with yours it'll not be long before others follow. Pick it after you've taken you photo and that will encourage others. All these have come out this week.

Oh LG--those Sweetpeas are lovely-mine are nowhere near to showing even a bud! I can imagine the perfume is glorious -I can almost smell them from here and such delicate colours too. You and FB must have Greenfingers -it probally pays to plant them in the Autumn to get early blooms. When did you plant yours?

Evening Biggles, hope you are well. Yes I sowed them in the autumn. They lived outside in their toilet roll inners until late winter and then went into the ground. In my opinion it is the best way to get strong healthy plants.

Hello LG--I must remember to do the Sweetpeas like your have done and sow them this Autumn--I will 'post' a photograph of mine--but please dont laugh--they are so small!! The container is 18" deep with good compost/John Innis and chicken pellets mixed in. I started them off about late February in small plant pots then transfered them to their planting position when I thought they were large enough to move. If you look closely you can just see them at the base of the Standard Rose Tree (which isn't looking too good either!) I have a lot to learn yet ;D Any help welcome.

My sp looks exactly like Myrtle's - that's the only one I have at the mo I saw an ad on the TV yesterday for Miracle Gro feed - you just clip it to a pump and spray away - that sounds like my kind of gizmo
