Thanks Sleepy that sounds delicious I will certainly make that when I have company ;D its too good for just us!! I just used white bread as I had some left from my sage and onion stuffing I made at Christmas (it was in the Freezer) I used a tub of single cream and sultanas I had steeped in whiskey to plump them up it was nice but not as nice as yours looks thanks for that I have saved it.

What did you order from the fishmongers? I know its odd. Mind you there isn't really anywhere else to buy fish round here unless you go to the supermarket. he really is a great butchers, family run, they employ a lovely 90 year old lady in the shop and she makes great meat/fruit pies and bread pudding to sell in the shop too. The shop is up for sale and the florists next door to it(run by his wife) that little row of shops will suffer a blow when they go, the PO was closed down a few months ago too.

That's a shame emsey, when these little shops go it leaves a hole.

I think the time is coming when everyone gets fed up of the supermarkets and wants the personal touch and quality of the little local shops. I went to Tesco's on Sunday and ended up hating being in there, I felt it was really rubbishy. BUT they did have some Sharwoods sauces at half price, and wow, I used the Kung Po sauce yesterday for dinner, it was fantastic! Everyone loved it - has anyone else tried it?

I haven't treid it but I did notice that our Tesco on Sunday had Chinese New Year food everywhere - I was looking for a haggis for Burns Night though Oh, well, I will get that from Waitrose probably. I was telling my family when we got together at Christmas about the Chinese Made Easy ccokbook because they were asking how many cookery books I now had and did I use them. I said that when I bought that one I went mad cooking chinese food until it got to the point that hubby asked for anything else! Nice recipes though.

Lucky hubby, home-cooked Chinese food, delicious!I think it would take a very long time of full-on Chinese meals before I got fed up with it. ;D

Indonesian style stir-fry prawns in a peanut sauce - healthy, honest even though the sauce is made with peanut butter The protein in the peanuts outweighs the fat providing of course that you don't eat it every day!

Meatballs in a tomato & garlic sauce (I bought the meatballs last night after having taste tested them! Good job they are nice - there's 100 in the box and there's only two of us) Err, looking at this thread do you think I am food obsessed or something?
