They are lovely photos C3Ds and you are really lucky to have such good subjects, I am terrible with the camera but I am married to a ex RAF photoghtapher so I leave it to him but he did give me one of his cast off digitals but he is new to them himself, as he trained on what I call proper cameras.

I'm not very good with the camera either. Mike is a Pediatric Reconstructive Surgeon but likes his wildlife photography. Some of them are really nice!

I can't believe the colour and pattern on the Blue Jay! It looks like a butterfly's wing, the markings are so strong. Beautiful. We have woodpeckers which look very similar but I can never remember if it is the Lesser Spotted or the Greater Spotted....whichever is right, they are very attractive birds. I love the fluting motion as they fly. And boy, do they get through the peanuts! Mike is brilliant C3D!

The Jays do go through the peanuts and everything else. They are VERY loud too but fantastic alarms if a hawk or owl is near. Glad you liked the pics.

Hi Karen. Thanks. Glad you like the pics. We are very fortunate to have them visit our garden. Hiya A. I AM wiped out! I was before I started working full time but there does not seem to be a time to be able to catch up with things. More things demand attention and so it goes. Mike and our children help a lot with the animals at home. Sometimes if the receptionist at work doesn't come in on a Saturday, Mike helps there too. He's a keeper!

I've heard of Blue Jays before but never seen a pic of one - great photo and what a beautiful bird. In fact they're all beautiful birds, and wonderful camerawork. What's up with puss?

Sorry to report the kitty died. He was 12 years old and apparently had eaten a mouse that was poisoned earlier in the day. The 12 year old cat died of rodenticide toxicity. He bled internally and * NOTHING would stop it. Not Vitamin K or a transfusion.... How very sad!
