Hi all! We actually see woodpeckers almost every day. The Common Flicker and the Downy Woodpeckers. Here and there we see the Pileated Woodpecker. How long to take to WP picture? I have no clue. Could have been seconds or an hour. They appear when they want to. They disappear when I appear with a camera! LOL!

Wow C3D what beauties they are too - would you like the last photo as your avatar? The Black-Capped Chickadee looks quite a small bird - is it?

Excellent the American thrush is gorgeous, if there were a fabric like that it would be too expensive for me.... and the chickadee is so cute, and it looks tiny how big is it, actually?

The Chickadee is tiny! Only 12-14 cm as compared to the Starling who is 19-21 cm. Oh The witch! Can you make that one into an avatar? That would be fantastic! Thanks so much!

It reminds me of the Fieldfare too,but with so many kinds of birds on the planet there are bound to be similarities....... even the same birds with very different names on the different continents, but whatever its name its lovely and yet again a beautiful photograph worthy of publication.

He's actually a type of American wood warbler, Seiurus aurocapillus. The name comes from the ground nest they build. It resembles a miniature dutch oven. Glad you like the photo.

This one looks a bit of a bruiser! I dont know why but he looks annoyed, do you think he spotted Mike? Hes very attractive though with his red hat on. Or perhaps the photo was taken when he was in the middle of preening and thats why his chest feathers are ruffled!

LOL! You are sooooooo right about that observation! He just had a ~~discussion~~ with a starling over who had the rights to the mealworms. I think he's got chicks to feed so he's a bit more serious about his duties.

A couple more photographs? Ruby-crowned Kinglet (even tinier than a chickadee). Wild Turkeys ~~~~~~~> Mike has a Leica SLR camera, many lenses and an abundance of patience and luck!

Cor those turkeys looks scary but the little Kinglet is dinky - and what a cute name, it's as though he's too small to be a king!!! I love the woodpecker too - Keep them coming!!!
