I have already ordered my seeds ( and some to come from friends) and am up to my ears in new stuff. Only a slight panic about where to leave them all once things get into full swing. Thanks but, no, better not ( aaargh the temptation...... no I am going to be ruthlessly strong and..er... no no. Thanks though )

oooooh twirly......
I don't plan to start sowing until March (yeahrite)
BUT...I may be tempted...some climbers, like Cobaea scandens need to reach a certain height before they start setting flowers...so IF I grow it I would be tempted to start that off mid February....

Would you share your plotting please? I have to plot a strategy for veg for the first time and am sort of blundering along. I sowed Broad beans and they are in the cold frame now. Today I did some peas too and they will go into the coldframe today as well. My earliest veg sowing. It is so bldy warm and wet it should be OK. I have no clue as to effect but read it was possible so hey.... I blunder in where knowledge and wisdom probably stay away.

I don't see what's wrong with that Cheery - good idea really. I am sooo impressed by your organisation though. I always end up just shoving plants wherever there happens to be a weed free space (temporarily anyway). It works though cos your garden is always beautiful.

;D Me too 4P but I plan.... hope.... pray to be more organised this year or I will drown in it.
As for cutting things from mags. What a brill idea and you can make a plan for your borders and stick bits in as a reminder. Ooh wow something to do in case winter does decide to show up.

Well, so much for my NY resolution about seeds......I was just sitting here and the T&M catalogue magically opened up in front of me and I was too weak.......... ...still, I've only ordered four: Tithonia rotundifolia (Mexican sunflowers) Aconitum carmichaelii Anemanthele lessoniana (a lovely grass) And a packet of the mixed Cacti seeds to try my hand at - never grown cactus from seed before so I thought I'd start with the easy ones

OK...I confess. I've sown some seeds OH found the heated propagator and I just couldn't stop myself. I scrubbed it and put in a thick layer of silver sand...then set it up in the conservatory...with a jam jar with my ensete ventricosum seeds soaking in warm water. OOH I thought I'd have a look at some of the seed packets...and LO! I was guided towards those plants that may be sown in JANUARY ;D I washed some 3" square plastic pots, filled them with fresh seed compost and did a bit of sowing.... Chrysanthemum Snowland Pepino Gerbera California Giants Angelonia Serena Lobelia String of Pearls Geranium 'Moulin Rouge' Dahlia Bishops Children (the remains of a packet from 2005) Coleus Kong Scarlet Campanula: Moesaica and Punctata 'Beetroot' In the CF is a little pot of Mecenopsis Lingholm seed In the GH are Centranthus (Ruber Mixed) and Veronica Longifolia. OOOOOsorry4PbutOOOOOOOO ;D

It's entirly MrsB's fault with her Brown Turkey Fig question but I couldn't stop myself buying some seeds at the GC this morning...all 50p off you see.....
Sunflower Pacino - only 16" high....aw.....sweet... Sunflower Ruby Eclipse Sunflower Jammie Dodger both lovely reds and yellow shades Erigeron - keep meaning to sow this...keep forgetting... Rudbeckia Goldsturm - not a sign of them last year, I will not give up. Cabbage Savoy - despite my fleece cages etc they are always infested with critters. I'll have another go - we love savoy cabbage.
I shall have to be more careful in GC's in future...
