I shall be very interested to see how the Daphne m. seeds perform - I've always thought they must be very tricky, I dunno why, I suppose because the plants are so expensive. I shall grow the Mexican sunflowers too this year but I shall buy the seeds myself as I want lots of clumps. I don't know two of them - I must google ;D

My leek seed packet says that I can plant now (plan to start them off in the long bean tubes) is it a better to wait until March tho? I know you're desperate to sow something but there really is no advantage in sowing leeks yet! They are a winter vegetable so if you sow too early you run the risk of them either running to seed or falling prey to diseases like rust etc. They will continue to grow long after your other vegetables are finished so really if you're pushed for space they can be sown later rather than earlier...sorry ;D

You can start Peas early can't you? They say it is good to start peas and beans early so they do not get so affected with bugs.
Cheery I am very curious about those Trillium you ordered. I love the plant ( No point growing it on my clay ) but would not know how to go about growing it from seed. Just tell all about your experiance with it please please pretty please?. Dx

I bought some trillium plants from Wisley when we went there last year and am anxiously waiting to see if they come back this year.
As soon as I get the seeds I'm going to plant them in a seed tray, cover them with grit and leave them out so that the frost can get to them a bit..on the BBC MB I was told that they need this....so I'll let you know how I get on Dutchy. ;D

If the seeds need some frost your Wisley plants should be fine. Is growing them a bit like growing Helleborus? They take their time before they flower, some more than three years. Any clue on the Trillium? ( very romantic Fairy plants IMHO )

That is sooo pretty. Thank you. The other one is the smaller leave on the right with no flower?
Getting ones that face up is good thinking. On the other hand getting down on your knees to have a peek at these flowers is worth it and I wonder if the upturned variety does what those new upward facing digitalis do, rot faster when it rains. I hope not. Trillium should drain better should it not?
