My seeds arrived from D T Brown yesterday.... : I've sown the eryngium (dwarf Blue Hobbit) and the Lysimachia atropurpurea as they have to have a period of cold in the CF.....the gerberas, and pepino are germinating...I can see the weeny little roots emerging from the seed cases and going down into the compost.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I MUST now hold off until March with the other seeds....

It's entirly MrsB's fault with her Brown Turkey Fig question but I couldn't stop myself buying some seeds at the GC this morning...all 50p off you see..... Sunflower Pacino - only 16" high....aw.....sweet... Sunflower Ruby Eclipse Sunflower Jammie Dodger both lovely reds and yellow shades Erigeron - keep meaning to sow this...keep forgetting... Rudbeckia Goldsturm - not a sign of them last year, I will not give up. Cabbage Savoy - despite my fleece cages etc they are always infested with critters. I'll have another go - we love savoy cabbage. I shall have to be more careful in GC's in future... YAY! it's a slippery slope ent it duckie?

I pricked out the larger dahlia seedlings today into individual 3" pots, and the chrysanthemum 'snowland' into a tray....YAY! Put them back into a (ventilated) heated propagator on a low heat until they get a bit bigger....

Pricked out the geranium moulin rouge this arvo... F1 Hybrids are very nice, our council uses them a lot along the divider down the centre of our main street, as well as in the centre of roundabouts. Of course strictly speaking they are Zonal pelargoniums ;D

What a shame....it's not a bad day here but it's very very breezy...I decided my back wouldn't like digging in that so I sowed seeds and lit the fires instead! Why is it always a lovely gardening day when we're at work?

Well what do you know? It's just started pouring! The sun is shining though.........oo might see a rainbow! There was a glorious one on view from the leek shed yesterday. Right purty it be. Norfolk is quite good for rainbows I believe....maybe it's the lack of hills encourages them...I think they are timid things..

Look! It's the middle of February already! In my head that means it's reeeeally March which means I can get going with the seed sowing..hehehee......I shall gather up my stash of cardboard loo rolls (first checking for monsters cos there was a HOOOGE spider lurking in the bag last September) and sow my Parsnips seeds in them. Plus I may seek out my fairly knackered but still usable station seed trays and use them to sow a load of hardy annuals...waste not want not. I shall sow early peas in pots too...it will push me to keep going with the digging if I am accumulating a queue of stuff that needs a home... I am being VERY grown up though and won't sow anything that needs heat yet....
...although Mum's house is much warmer than mine and she has bettter windowsills too.......

How exciting, it's all kicking off, isn't it? I've planted some Petunias which are sitting on our windowsill not doing very much - I might move them somewhere warmer. And I've got 2 trays of Cat Grass growing outside in a sheltered spot for the chickens, if that makes sense! ;D
