I sowed most of this year's cacti and succulents just before I left.
Had a quick look when I got in yesterday and some are up already.
There's a couple I am leaving until summer as they need 115F to germinate!

I presume that's in a propagator? It's such a nice feeling seeing all the new babies growing. I can't understand why everyone doesn't garden... I can't sow any cactus seeds for ages can I? I haven't got a propagator..

Doreen had nothing to do with them Mick... ;D altho I spose indirectly in a passive role she was 'supporting' me in my efforts....
The thing about ensete and musa seeds is that they require great patience...a characteristic sadly lacking in my make-up....

My pots of Rose Campion look as if something is happening..sadly Posie cat dumped a tray of poppy seeds on top of them though so I dunno which is germinating yet.. I scraped as much compost off as I could. I shall be very indeed if the Rose Campion don't show.

I've had a brilliant day pottering in the GH.....
Pricked out Gazanias 'Sunshine Mixed' and 'Dynastar Inferno', the rest of the Trifolium Rubens and Centranthus, also a chrysanthemum 'Eastern Star' and a few of the RHS tithonia rotundifolia seedlings.
Potted on 7 dahlias 'Bishops Children' and 5 pelargoniums 'Moulin Rouge'....potted up 3 houseplants I've grown on from cuttings (2 ferny ones and a jade plant) to take to work on Monday for the boss' office.
Planted out the bleeding heart in a sheltered spot as it's going mad and throwing out lots of growth, put chicken manure pellets on the winter onions and weeded the (soon to be moved) veg patch....sigh.
It's blowing a gale outside...OH had to anchor the fence with stakes where it's looking a bit unstable.
AND all I've eaten today is a boiled egg and soldiers....I've been enjoying myself sooo much I forgot to have any lunch!

Gosh...you have an impressive collection of babies already, Cheery! I have just oiked smallest out of the main bathroom for the duration and started sowing the seeds that need heat this afternoon - Globe Artichokes, Alpine Strawberries, Mexican Sunflowers (T&M ), Erigeron, A Grass with a very long name ;D, Gazania Anise Hyssop - so far. Jolly good fun.....

I have several pots now with two different sorts of seeds..I may have to harden my heart and pull out the poppy babies I hate doing that...... OOH! The good news is that I had a nose around my old cold frame which I haven't done anything with for months (no lid so no need to water) and I have found a tray with about a dozen Oriental Poppy plants in it! I forgot I potted them up last year in 3" pots and shoved them in there. They look really well too - I think they will flower this year - coo!

I am finally getting to the pricking out stage with some of my seed trays <rubshandswithgleesmiley> This cold snap has slowed things down quite a lot. I have loads and loads of Purple Sprouting Broccoli babies - I hate throwing seedlings away but there are about 3000 - and I only sowed a fraction of the packet : And all the Broad Beans and Peas are up so they can go into the polytunnel now for a while. I have room to sow the next batch now. Teehee......
