Maybe it's the change of feed regime. I switched to Chempak no 4 from no 8 and instead of feeding weekly I've fed quarter strength every day. I've only fed my toms twice - both times with 1/2 strength tomorite.

Is that in the greenhouse?

Is that in the greenhouse? Yes. I have grown toms outdoors, and think the taste is better, but the skins are thicker.

You're right. Presumably its down to watering.
I guess the roots of yours are down in something pretty delicious.

I compost the old gromore compost that is in the pots each year, but usually scatter 1 bag evenly around the pots on top on the beds and fork it in at the end of the season. The original soil in the beds is heavy clay. Nothing else has gone in the greenhouse beds. I reckon they are clay 9 inches down. I've never had blight (fingers crossed), and always have toms ripe before the end of July.

You shouldn't get blight in a greenhouse though should you?.

My 'new' neighbour in the Flat above us has an allotment--He has just moved into the flat above us. Today he brought me a Bag of Beetroot/Tomatoes/Runner Beans/ Onions and a few Potatoes. What a lovely surprise--and so kind-he didn't want any money for them he said they were surplus--and anytime he had some to spare he would supply me with 'left overs' They taste so different when fresh from the Ground- A lovely neighbour to have--

My youngest grandson had broad beans that I had frozen with egg and bacon - absolutely loved them and has been asking for more.

We have had a very good crop in the greenhouse - plenty of peppers , chillies, cues and tomatoes I grew 'Diamond' aubergines for the first time - not impressed - will go back to black enorma or dusky next year A couple of weeks ago the outdoor toms succumbed to the blight - our Grandchildren were not impressed - they have enjoyed going down the garden to pick the cherry ones - eating them like sweeties Barry's show carrots were attacked by carrot fly again this year All beans have been brilliant and courgettes and potatoes. It's swings and roundabouts isn't it!

Elsie, my outdoor toms have also gone the same way now with blight.
I did my carrots in a large plastic window box in soft peaty soil and had an excellent crop which I didn't thin either.
