Oh don't I just Cheery! I don't get a great deal of feedback either, and such that I get sounds very like yours: OH grunts and says "S'ok" or "it's nice" and dad points out the weaker bits and tells me I need to find a style of my own. It is bad to show off but when you've had me nagging at you to show some work that isn't showing off! And as you say, it's nice to get a bit of appreciation. ;D
Well done the two of you for being so brave.

I stuck a few more on that I had in my drawer...not good enough to frame but what the hell! It's lovely to be able to show people actually, don't you think?

Sweetie, please show your work! I bet it's far better than you think. It's not a question of someone's being better or worse but it's just another aspect of you. So we're bound to like it!

Sweetie..we would love to see your drawings. None of us ever think that what we've done is worth showing, but it is lovely to share. I wouldn't have posted my pics if this hadn't been a closed board (hopefully nobody will bother looking through the CPB's garden link on the other MB ) Don't be bullied but it would be lovely to see it...up to you. Don't suppose there's any chance you'll share these with the wider audience on GWD ?

Evening, It's NOT good Cheery, it's technically a doodle. My technique has lost its edge over the years. Ah well...actually I'd rather not show them on GWD. I don't mind here as we're only a few but I don't want to broadcast the bloody things. I know what I think of them!

Well I think that yours are excellent 4P, and Plocket's. I feel a bit daft putting mine on GWD now. BUT...I only put a link on and the thread will work it's way down and out eventually so there's no harm done.

Oh they are so lovely - I particularly like the two woodland ones, and the poppies are very sensitive. Good old Newcastle Brown!!!

I look at your pictures and think "WOW I wish I had just 1% of 4P's talent". No BS, I honestly think that. Same goes for CPB & Plocket. You are all wonderfully talented whether you think so or not and although everyone is always modest and highly critical of their own work, I really think it's pretty special and worth sharing. FA x

Plocket sweetie....please can you put your lovely clems on the GWD one? they are sooo lovely and I'm all embarrassed that I've got mine on there on me own! (feel a bit like Sally-Show-Off) Nice of you to say nice things about the poppies cos they really are AWFUL close up I just can't get the translucent quality that you've captured in the petals of your flowers...that takes a delicate touch.... AND 4P...that rose bowl of yorn is fantastic....I lurve it....so there. I also think that your portraits are amazing....It's up to you whether you post on GWD and I do respect your feelings on the matter....(but they are REALLY good) no worries. XxXxXxX

Just wanted to tell Sleepy that I really like Hitler's work - very well executed and realistic - is she a professional? There is a such a good balance in them compositionally I wondered if she was a pro!
I think my pictures are OK, FA but it just tees me off that I've never had much opportunity to actually develop at all. I could have been much better! Story of my life!

She will be thrilled with your comments 4P. She only took up painting as a bit of a hobby after she retired. She no longer paints as she has very limited vision (5-10%)

Oh Sleepy Hitler's work is lovely - it reminds me of the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady paintings. Such a shame that she doesn't paint any more though. Please tell her thank you for letting us see her paintings.

What a fantastically talented lot you all are! Superb artwork.
Sleepy, your MIL's pics are very reminscent of the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady, lovely.
I haven't done any painting since the very early 80's. I just don't seem to have the time. If I get chance, I'll post a pic of my one and only oil painting of a barn owl, I'll have to photograph it first though. It was the last thing I did in 1982 I think.

I am stunned! They are all superb particularly Sleepys MIL. It seems that age is no bar to artistic talent. Some years ago we had a neighbour who was 85 and sent us beautiful hand painted cards at Xmas.
