Plocket
I've said it before - you are extremely talented and should exhibit your work.
I, on the other hand, am absolute dog doo-doo at painting, drawing or any other kind of art work.

It would be a very small exhibition FA - they are all dinky little pictures!!! OH bought me a beautiful A3 painting pad last year for Christmas and I haven't used it yet - it's too big ;D
They don't take too long Cheery - I'd probably allow a couple of hours to do one, but it's intense work and it makes me quite tired. Please do post some of your work Cheery - I'm sure everyone would like to see one or two if you wouldn't mind. I know I would.
Part of the point of the Art Gallery I think is to encourage people to show off even one piece of work, whether they think they are talented or not. It's very difficult to pluck up the courage but I would be thrilled if people would add their work to the gallery so please take the step peeps!

Hi Can I be really cheeky ? This is my sister-in-law's website www.ayounger.zoomshare.com/0.htmlShe enjoyed painting at school but hasn't done any for about 20 years. Towards the end of last year, she decided to take it up again as a hobby and started a website to show off her work. Each picture is done completely from her imagination - she never copies pictures or goes anywhere except her spare room to do them. Remarkably, each one only takes about 1½ to 2 hours to complete. I think her figures and animals are a bit naive (is that how you spell it - it doesn't look right !) but I really like her landscapes and sunsets. She gave us the Stargazer Lily one and we're just waiting to get it framed for our bedroom. The pheasant one was a birthday present for her dad (a real country enthusiast). The rest are just lying around at her house !! They're all different sizes. The pheasant one for example is about 2½ ft square. My favourite one is the snow scene, which she painted and then used to have her Christmas cards printed this year. Hope you don't mind me putting this on here. I think she's pretty good but she's extremely modest about her talent. She's also getting better. Some of the later ones show much more maturity than the earlier ones. Cheers FA x

Thanks Plocket. Even though she started the website, she's still quite reticent about showing off her work. I think it's good but she needs some convincing !

Morning Plocket, Just wanted to say that although I've looked on the web site and seen your paintings before - I really admire them, they definitely warrant another view! I particularly like the blue painting. You've captured the curve and flow of the petals really well. Aren't we brave??

WOW 4P
I'm seriously impressed. I have the utmost respect and admiration for anyone who can draw and paint. It's one of the really big disappointments in my life that I'm utter rubbish at that sort of thing. Mind you. I can't sing or play music either which is equally as disappointing for me. Haven't got an artistic or creative bone in my body, unfortunately.

I agree FA, I'm the same. I'd love to be able to sing, play an instrument, draw, paint... anything. The will is in me, but not the ability.

We are very brave 4P and your paintings are exquisite! I'd hang either of those on my wall, although of course the portrait isn't someone I know. They really are lovely - thank you for taking the plunge!

Wonderful Plocket and 4P - I have all the gear to paint either in water colour or acrylic - but so far haven't achieved anything worth framing

Well, thank you for your kind comments but I have a bit of a bug bear about this "can't paint, draw" stuff.....I have taught Art occasionally in the distant past (admittedly mainly mentally handicapped!) but, you know, EVERYONE has a creative spirit in them somewhere - it's just a question of recognising it and nurturing it - what the heck do you think you're doing when you create a wonderful border?? When you take the plunge - don't expect miracles or perfect perspective or representation. Everyone has to start somewhere - I haven't picked up a paintbrush for YEARS seriously so on the odd occasion I have, you wouldn't believe the total RUBBISH I've produced. There's a beautiful picture in everyone somewhere.

Cheers Plocket...you KNOW how hard it is to screw up the courage to show and tell! I don't really get any feedback at home...OH never says anything and my Dad just points out the bits that are wrong...so loads of stuff ends up in the bin! I was always told as a child that it's bad form to show off....but when you've slogged your guts out over a painting or drawing...you just want to say 'Look, I did this...say you like it...perleeeeeeease...!'... daft but true.

I have to say that looking at all your artwork is humbling I have decided not to post mine, they dont deserve to be on the same web-site with yours Plocket you really do love your clems dont you ? It shows in the care youve taken to represent them, you want to stroke the petals ;D 4P I loved your roses, they look so fresh and beautiful I could almost smell them and the old mans face had a story to tell, he looked as though he did anyway, brilliant. ;D Cheery you know your pictures are goodfantastic!, I cant even choose a favourite ! Although the gold mask was pretty spectacular.....
