I've nothing special in my garden really I love the wood pigeons and the coo coo they make I have quite an elaborate bird feeder that is really only meant for little birds but a blackbird has taken it over Even tho he (must be a MALE ) cant stand on any of the shelves he guards it with his life and shoos everyone away Now and again a crafty robin and brave sparrow have a feed when he isnt there The blackbird in our garden doesn't do that but he spends ages in the birdbath and I love to watch him. He sends the water everywhere but really looks as though he is enjoying himself. He then spreads himself out on the shed roof to dry, moving round to get the sun on different parts of him.

The skid marks from FB are still in Magg's garden-- It is great to have a good laugh I know FB is a great sport and wouldn't be offended (I hope) I am preparing myself for the Naughty corner--if he complains. I think the Peacock is such a beautiful bird and the Plumage makes up for the sound it makes! Nature is wonderful--

My OH loves peacocks, there is a local farm museum we got to quite a lot and he always chases them! i'm sure they remember him now! I saw some peacock feathers for sale the other day, but the friend I was with said they were bad luck to have in the house so I didn't buy any.

Yes, they are supposed to be bad luck if you have them in the house, it's not good if they decide to strut all over your parents new car either! We went to Ragley Hall when I was a child in our new Vauxhall Victor, it was only 2 days old. We came out and people were looking at it shaking their heads. On it was a peacock and when they tried to shoo him off he just ran backwards & forwards over the bonnet, roof and boot. Result - scratches everywhere! They are lovely, elegant birds though.

Really Good photographs Maggs--Are you entering them in the March or April competition? I have seen a Thrush in the garden today--the first for ages-- My little Lame Blackbird has disappeared I am hoping the Cat hasn't got it again--or maybe he/she has found a mate and is busy nesting--

The pigeons are back at our office - they have been around for a couple of weeks but I kept quiet because I knew the men would moan! They sit on the roller shutter box above one of the windows and the one guy keeps leaping out of his seat and opening & slamming the window to frighten them! I think though they are in the stores next door because I can hear them cooing, they have got inside & nested before. I didn't say anything because I knew they would be chased away, but the men found out yesterday, I just said they were probably on the roof

I love to hear the dawn chorus Maggie, glad your wee man is getting back to normal. We have pigeons all the time here bogmyrtle, I hope they leave my veg alone this year and don't chomp the top of my peas if I get them to grow..

We have pigeons all the time here bogmyrtle, I hope they leave my veg alone this year and don't chomp the top of my peas if I get them to grow.. We have wood pigeons at home LG, we even nursed one last year as he had flown the nest too early - Walter, and he had a droopy wing. He survived - was strutting round the kitchen at one point! We brought him in at night so the foxes or a cat didn't get him (he was too big for our scaredy-cat). He visits the garden sometimes, his wing is still a bit droopy but he's ok. We were ever so excited when he first managed to fly - proud 'parents' we were! The ones at the office are town pigeons but they still want somewhere to nest.

How wonderful Bogmyrtle, you obviously did a really good job there. No problem for them to find a home round here we have quite a few derilect buildings.
