It's OK! I've just had a long conversation with the man in charge of the thick pillocks. He has arranged for the plug plants to be replaced, he's apologised profusely for the groundsman (said he's not very bright and has now been told that he is not going to schools anymore) and has arranged to meet me in September at school to walk round with me and work out a programme that will help us rather than hinder us. He was very interested in my plans and says his department might be able to help as well with stuff like leaf bins. I call that a good result! About time too! That IS a result, well done, 4P!! ;D Keith

I felt sooo GREAT when I'd put the phone down! It will be nice to have the bods in the grounds work department working with us. He sounded quite keen to help - shocked too that anyone was doing anything I think voluntarily! What a nice man. Not a thick pillock at all.

Result, at last! Well done 4P for sticking to your guns(and not using them on the thick pillocks).

I've just driven past smallest's school and noticed a big digger and a small gaggle of people where the gardening work is being done...so I drove in. The Head, her husband and the Chairman of the Governors are all there completely rearranging all my plans without even consulting me! The GH is now being moved (again) to under the shade of a bloody tree, the hard landscaping is all being changed, no room for a herb garden, and the manky shrubs I wanted to remove and replace with something slightly more attractive and wildlife friendly have to stay.......when I started to give my point of view I was totally ignored and told by the Governor that the GH IS going there and the kids will just have to make the best of the poor access......... GRRRRRRRR!!!! What is with me? Am I sooo nondescript that everyone thinks what I say is irrelevant? I have secured £5000, for crying out loud, which is supposed to be for making the grounds wildlife friendly and to encourage the childrens interest in gardening and wildlife but I am having to fight for everything! No one LISTENS to me!! We might as well put the GH in its original spot over the other side of the school where it's screened and not in anyone's way. Then it's close to where the compost bins are, close the sheds where all the equipment is stored and not in the shade...... Is it me? I don't think I'm stupid. I think I know as much but probably more than most of the people at school about gardening and wildlfe. I certainly know as much about children as most of them. I have experience. I have ideas. And I WAS full of enthusiasm. I feel like giving the whole bloody thing up and letting someone else take all this grief. I won't be able to grow anything with the kids if they won't let me plan it sensibly. I am FED UP!

Sorry to hear this 4P. Sounds like you are up against it again. What is their reasons for the move? What tree is the GH going under? Hopefully not a conker tree!!! Keep with it and maybe they will see the error of their ways, eventually, and offer an apology!! Pigs might fly, I know! Why no herb garden, or are they worried about the kids getting stung by bees that they will obviously attract! If this is it, it's a poor excuse, but have heard it before! Keep trying to do your best, which is obviously more them all them put together!! Keith

Also, some individual has to be responsible for todays actions. Find out who it is and send the boys round! After some thought a letter to your Head, with a copy to the BoG along the lines of: Thank you for allowing me to start with the creation of a wildlife garden area, and sorry that you and the Board of Governors have lost confidence in the direction we were going.
I wish you all the best with your future plans with the project. I will miss my involvement, but at least it will free up time to work on other wildlife projects I have planned at home.
Best regards

Your not stupid 4p, but your too nice, maybe its time to call their bluff? Talk to them, sooner rather than later, it seem like they just wanted the funding and now they have the cash they're doing what they please with it. Sleepys letter is spot on, they can beg you to go back, on your terms, or you can spend more time in your own garden win/win......sort of

I'm tempted............but I won't act in temper. I shall cogitate and maybe even come up with some different plans which may even be an improvement....I am just sooo cross with having to fight my corner all the time when it's MY idea anyway! (I don't sound like a megalomanic, do I? You can tell me.....) I've had a nice chat to our lovely Sweetie and am already imagining my ladies and I ripping out the manky shrubs in September.....hehehe......what can they do then? Sublety and some undercover guerilla gardening may be the way forward but I am saving Sleepy's letter, just in case. Thank you for caring, you lovely lot! What would I do without you.......? Prolly be found with my head exploded with rage somewhere behind the dipping ponds.....

What a complete bunch of blockheads! Why does the greenhouse have to go 'there'? Are all these rearrangements being done with the children in mind? Why the rearranging? I would be steaming with rage and would want blood but that's the hothead I am - not the best way to handle this, maybe! I think that if they're ignoring you now they won't pay any attention to a letter like Sleepy's either, which would work if you are dealing with sentient beings. I think it's Ofsted time...........

I am FED UP! - I could cry for you then feel very angry for you too You need to speak to the parent governor ASAP to get some inside knowledge of what was discussed at the last governors meeting 4P. Let as many parents know as possible too, inform them of your long term plans for the area, then tell them what the governors have suggested/are going to do. Get them to write letters of complaint to the governors. Get some of the kids to write too
