I did quite well today as well! Went to the G/C yesterday to get lots of bulbs, even some bluebells! So today, I decided that I was going to plant them, before I forget to!! I would need to do some re arranging of some plants before putting in the bulbs, no point afterwards, right?!! First to hit the compost bin/green recycle bin was the cerinthe. It had gone MAD. Two grasses I got from GWL, moved across the garden, as I don't think they were getting enough light where they were. We will see next year!! Lots of other plants got shifted around as well. I think I feel a bit better now, gardenwise. Well two borders at least. Craig did some weeding of the front border, while Jennifer hoovered out her Clio, ready to be sold! Stephen did his bit as well, especially when it came to watering in the plants!! Oh, those bulbs................................still in their packets!!! Keith

I got as far as watering the plants on the bench in one GH when I got a call to say I was having a chippings delivery at the lottie so instead of gardening at home I spent the day shovelling and barrowing chippings on my plot, all my paths have been topped up, two new ones created, and theres still loads to share with the other plotholders. The man who delivered asked me what produce I had and he went away with courgettes (Tromboncino) runner beans and a Marrow, well satisfied.

Well, I actually embarked on the Great Hedge Trimming today. I did a 20ft length of my flower garden, mostly Myrabalan Plum and Hawthorn. OMG it was over 12 feet high I reckon and I only have my hand loppers........I am completely bu****ed and even my fingernails hurt...and I have 3 MASSIVE piles of trimmings to deal with tomorrow....... I feel quite proud of myself really. No one ever helps me do these humungously hard jobs in the garden and at my age, and height ( ;D) I do think it's a good achievement. I don't know any other female who has to undertake these physical challenges quite so often (apart from Sweetleaf possibly). At one point I wasn't quite sure whether to burst into tears of self pity or just kill my OH (guess where he was? ) but I channelled my rage into lopping ;D TIP: NEVER plant a Myrabalan Plum or Hawthorn hedge unless you: a love lopping and are more than 5'1" tall b have an electric hedge trimmer c can afford to pay some other mug to cut it twice a year....... BUT I did find another beautifully made tiny nest - goats hair included. Sweet little thing - still there too.

I dun it!!! I finished the hedge trimming.....eeh, I'm so pleased. I've been out there all morning lopping away...the hedge is reduced to 6' high stumps and we've had a massive bonfire....I am covered in nettle stings, face, arms, hands and neck, I'm really shattered and my hands are really tingling cos of all the cutting but I am soo glad it's done. I also rediscovered my raspberry patch, cut down the rampant willows growing out of smallest's little willow hut and pulled out stacksand stacks of nettles from a swathe of garden...phew, need a rest now......

I know it would it would be nice if I had any control over my life at all at the moment, all the decisions are made without my knowledge or input, things will change soon or else.
