I've just planed my bulbs too cheery, no daffs for the reason you've just given, but I bet some pop up anyway, tulips, anemomie's, crocus, allums and some others i've forgotten the name of Some white things and some hot coloured rossetey thpe flowers that begin with R. The lillys I bought at the KHS have gone mouldy, but I shoved them in anyhow.

Shame on you for not liking Daffs! The cheeriest things in the garden after a long dark winter......(apart from Cheerypeabrain) ...they are lovely things! I enjoyed last night too - must have, as I managed to stay awake.....I enjoyed Carol's glasses and seed sowing especially.

Don't let it seed though... that's what always puts me off - I'm not very good at doing things at the right time.......

I do like Monty Don - now there is a man with a passion for compost! He made me want to run and stick my hands in my compost bins.......just so did Geoff Hamilton get me enthused. Great programme tonight. I love Autumn!

The second flush of flowers were very pale pink...and then the poor plant got black spot....I trimmed it hard back and it is looking better now....dunno what colour they'll be next year?? I never could find out anything about it - even on the website of the specialist German nursery who breed them......

Montys Rose wasnt even really flowers was it? Modified leaves he said, and it was an old variety too, Victorian! I wouldnt mind just one, but I think more than that would be boring, in my small garden. It will be an interesting wait for next years flowers why dont you run a tote? Pink 2-1, Green 10-1, other 20-1, Ill lay 10p on other! Love your story BTW and Grahame is alive! !
