Im 2GH`s now (similar to 2jags only much greener!) ;D ;D Hey, Im sooooo posh I might not let me talk to me.....  Somewhere to keep all my Cacti Mick! BTW one of the cuttings is flowering  Do I take off the flowers to encourage rooting? How do I handle watering, (they are so warm the compost is sooo dry?) I have to water them dont I? :  I had to move a lot of stuff to put the first glass GH in,  the next one is a lot bigger.......what have I let myself in for? |

No, OK to leave the flowers on (guess thats the Rhipsalis).
The compost should be kep just moist to encourage roots. Too wet and they will rot. Are they in the propagator?

Yes the Rhipsalis!....... pink buds opened to creamy white flower. They are in the propagator and I did water them in the end as the compost became too dry, just a little though, to moisten it. ;D
I have never done cuttings from cacti before and theres nothing in my books to help. :)So I went on instinct.

OH and I are working on the GH ;D Pics to follow... Im having some troubles with the download program from camera to pc, ended up having to email the pics to myself as PB couldnt find them Anyway it was too dark to take the final photo so I shall make you wait until I have (evil arent I) Still no glass in it though  |

Im washing every sheet of glass carefully this morning, prior to replacing it, but first Im nipping to the shops for plasters and antiseptic, the cut on my hand healed well, but Im sure to get another no matter how careful I am!
Anyway surgical dressings dont look great with gaffer tape holding them on!

I know I said it was for cacti, and it will be as soon as the big GH gets built, its currently in a gazillion strangely shaped peices..... but not for long!

I had just come back from Tescos! I like to shop when the store is more or less empty, and there are (nearly) no children around. Can you believe some people, taking babies and young children shopping at that time of night! Lunatics.... |
