Give up. If I type the address in it works , if I put it as a link it doesn't.

Give up. If I type the address in it works , if I put it as a link it doesn't. That @ symbol in the address is very suspect Mick. Are you sure it is right? Have you copied and pasted it from the url address bar?

I have checked it Sleepy and @ is definitely there.
I took it from a thread on my Cactus Forum which was shown as "this site".

Yep, got it. And I can't get it to work either. URL's don't normally have an @ symbol in them. I suspect it's some kind of copy protection in place.

Mind you if anyone is interested they can go to that site and click on "this gallery" which will work.

Thanks SL. Look forward to it. Here are some excellent rules from one of Americas best growers:-
Proper nurturing of plants in your collection should include the following protocol:-
1. Freedom from pests and disease. 2.Good light 3.Pure air and air movement 4.Acceptable temperature range 5.Ample water at the proper times 6.Enough root and crown space 7.Proper soil ph for species 8.A proper balance of nutrients- both major and trace elements. 9.Crumbly soil media that is well aerated and drained even when fully watered. 10. Frequent repotting - ideally at least on an annual basis.

SL, you needn't get too hung up on PH. In general they prefer the neutral to acidic rather than the other way. Average shop bought compost is fine but they will take ericaceous without much problem.
