I remember as a kid seeing a friend of my parent's son, who had a big one of a golden eagle on his chest and I said when I grow up I will have one just like it. I have not had one to this day, too much of a chicken, probably. Also worry about health risks involved! I know lots of people who have had I Love Sharon tatooed on them to then split up with 'Sharon'. Do they wait until they find another Sharon or remove it??

There are a lot of people with tattoos round here - I think it must be a tradition with Orcs. They are covered from head to foot. Not my cup of tea at all. I wouldn't dream of having a tattoo. My BiL went through a mid life crisis after both his daughters married and had babies and got a tattoo to impress his SiL.s.....very very sad........as far as I'm aware neither of my older daughters has any and smallest never will! I have told her I shall shave her head, stick bones up her nose and beat her soundly with a pig's bladder every day if she does. I believe a bit of healthy brainwashing never hurt anyone..I don't like tattoos much.

My Mom had a shamrock tatoo'ed on her shoulder for her 40th. The best tatoo I've ever saw was my boss's husband It looked like someone had ripped the flesh apart on his ribcage and a likkle skellington was jumping out of the carnage! Grusome! Not for me tho.

Never had a tattoo...I thought I was being rather modern when I had my ears pierced as a young woman...(Mum and Dad thought earings were tarty)....My DiL has a circular tattoo around her belly button, and one of a squashed fairy on her bum (bought her the 'Pressed Fairy Book' written by Terry Jones and she got the design from that)...she's also got her belly button and tongue pierced! My son used to have his eyebrow pierced but took that out a few years ago..he has a tattoo of a Celtic rune on his upper arm (duuno what it stands for)...and youngest son's GF has a v fine art deco type stylised flower on her back... OH is unblemished......did you know that even nowadays you can't be a blood donor for at least 12 months after having a tattoo?

i love the squashed fairy idea, but i couldn't show anyone my bum! The artdecco flower sounds very tasteful too. Plocket we're all villa fans here! There is a little boy at Hollys nursary called Aston!

That's not such a bad name, but more obvious than having LFC as initials!!! ;D I like the squashed fairy idea too - I've got those books and the illustrations are gorgeous

I've got one on my lower back, it's a tribal pattern. It doesn't mean anything, I didn't want to have a misenterpritation on my back!

I dont mind them on others but I just dont want one on me! My dad had loads of them and they all went the same shade of blue over time, he had a tattoo every time he went to a new country in the army, very risky really, now I come to think about it, some were done with sharpened bamboo!
