Here you go The witch. The theory is that they won't want to slim over the spiky bits. As you've probably guessed they are 4pt milk bottles and a lemonade bottle cut up. And if needs be I can put some pellets inside too. Maggyd - Thinking about it I'm not sure it will help you I wonder if Teddy would pick them up with his teeth and run off with them to play with. I'm trying to think of a way to stop him from doing this. Btw. they are also good for protecting emerging perennials like Delphiniums (as here) from cats going to the toilet. - This I know does work. ;D

Lovely! My lilies had some lovely flowers on them before the slugs got to them.

The slugs aren't too bad this year, I'm winning I think! There's hardly anything left in the garden that they like eating, it's full of plants they can't stand so when a juicy lily comes along they're on to it! The other things that they like to eat are in baskets/tubs or fortified in some way. Chickens here, slugs and snails there, you have to stay one step ahead of them. Tiny, the other black hen, likes snails - I pick them off the Russian Ivy on the gazebo and throw them to her. I should have a conscience about it......

A little bit of yellow from my garden. Daffodils are my favourite spring flower - closely followed by snowdrops and wild primroses.

Whenever my daffs come out the wind gets up,and blows them down,as it did yesterday ;D I blamed the two dogs on Sunday but your probably right FB anyway I have a vase on top of the F.F. that I picked up! thats the only way I will bring them in as they last soo much longer outside. I had to laugh my youngest Son moved into another house back end of last year his garden was an overgrown wilderness but his house was as well so he has been working in there! last week he managed to cut the grass down and strim the hedge he said he had admired the bunch of daffs his youngest had given her Mum for mothers day and she said "I picked them out of the garden" he said " THE ONLY BIT OF B! COLOUR IN THE GARDEN" and she had picked them.!!!
