I've mastered the camera but not the art of melding camera and computer. Have you got the software on your PC yet? The witch, you know the answer... My daughter/tutor is not very forthcoming. Are you in the area soon....?

I'll look in the box 4P.
On another subject you may recall I planted a lot of seed late in the forlorn hope of an Indian summer. I think we can forget the French Beans but I am already picking lettuce. Would the carrots, beetroot and spring onions overwinter?

I doubt it, Mick....you might be lucky and be picking them in October but after that......the greeblies will love them. My late sown carrots are just starting to get big enough to pick - so I am...........at least I get them then!

I have worked jolly hard today and I'm k-nackered.
Dug out the last of the beets and cooked them, dug and manured the area overready for Broad beans, dug and manured another spare area for next year, planted 50 Japanese onion sets, picked some lettuce ans spinach, cleared the toms away etc. etc.

Not a big enough crop to freeze The witch but we will get a handful of meals from them.
Is it too early to sow winter Broad Beans yet and what varieties are recommended?

I've sown Aquadulce at work with my clients today, Mick. It's an old fashioned one but I think it's one of the best. Have you got your garlic and onion sets in yet? I did mine in the pouring rain while you were sunning yourself in Espana. You seem to have brought some sunshine back with you though. Which is nice.

Onion sets went in before I went away.
I'll get some Aquadulce tomorrow and put them in. Youngest Grandson is coming over to help me tomorrow and I can get him on this. Thanks 4P.

Aquadulce just starting to show.
I've decided to turn one of the beds in front of the greenhouse over to fruit and veg as well.
It's a "hot" bed insofar as it gets the sun all day long so should be ideal for tomatoes, peppers etc.
The other bed will be for dahlias.
All I need to do is clear them now...

Your Aquadulce germinated quickly Mick. I supposed your greenhouse is sooooo full of cacti you don't have room for growing tomatoes in there too. They've taken a month and there's just one showing. No, no room for toms I'm afraid.
