Is Keith coming to the BBQ? If so bring it along Mick, and Keith can take it away in his boot. How big ARE his feet?? Not that big actually, only size 7's. I was wondering whether you kept the grass and turned it upside down to keep it and turn it into some good stuff or did you chuck it!! Simple question wasn't it?

I've decided to pay my son to strip off the rest of the lawn and dig it over. He needs the money and he's young and fit! However, the season is moving on. What can I still sow this summer?
I appreciate that I can put broad beans and Jap onions in in autumn.

Thanks Reet Reet but it's a veg plot only. Not enough room for soft fruit.

Thanks Reet Reet but it's a veg plot only. Not enough room for soft fruit. It's gonna have to be fast growers: Lettuce, Radish, Rocket, Spinach, Turnips, Beetroot or Carrots Or green manure: Lupins, clover or maybe buckwheat?

Then why not grow some I don't really have enough space to do it justice The witch. I do have a separate strawberry bed though. If my grandsons didn't want my lawn for football and cricket I'd put a bed along the West facing fence for fruit purposes.

You could never get blase about the taste of freshly picked vegetables could you? I am, at this very moment, munching on a cucumber sandwich made from a cucumber I picked about 5 minutes ago from the PT - sun warmed and delicious! My new potatoes, broad beans and peas are in full flow now too - yum.............

My broad beans are at an end now so I dug their patch over yesterday and transplanted all the leeks.
I'm pleased with the potato crop as theye were grown on the shadier side and seem quite happy there.
