That'll be a no then - and I thought you were all a lot cleverer than me too! LOL You need two canes around 6' apart. Place a circle of string over them both with a circumference of 14'. Pull the string to it's max with a third cane and move around the two canes to form the elipse. Use some sand to mark the track. The elipse should be roughly the dimensions you need.

Erm......I always was rubbish at following instructions....I don't think I shall be constructing any oval beds any time soon ....I can't grasp that at all! I never could make cereal packets models either.... Those roses are completely lovely though The witch! Are they scented? They look as if they smell divine...

The roses look beautiful, The witch. I'm afraid my OH and I are a bit more rough and ready when digging troughs and beds, we may mark out the shape but wouldn't measure it, but luckily they don't end up looking that bad anyway. That's a lovely big bed you're creating.
