Hector MacGregor, I've never heard of a rusty lawn before.....is it the drainage at fault? You'll have to pogo about with a fork this Autumn. (Can we see that please? ) Do you think it was imported with your new turf?

Do you use a box on your lawn mower Sleepy? I did. It's only the new lawn that is affected. Low nitrogen is likely to be a factor. I have watered it with an anti-fungicide (because it is so bad). Will fork it, feed it and dress it with silver sand over the next couple of days.

If it's just in your new bit of lawn, surely you can complain to the supplier. I don't think so. The new lawn has been in place nearly 5 months now. It's been perfectly healthy until 3 or 4 weeks ago. If I could lay it all over again I would have raked in a lot more sand into the tilthe before laying the turves.

Our lawn's suddenly full of weeds...been lovely all year...but we've watered in a lawn treatment and we'll be scarifying etc soon.
