It just shows what an odd season this is, not only have I got a couple of C. alpina in flower, but I spotted these as well today. C. armandii, flowering at the top of a Hawthorn tree and C. montana wilsoni at the top of another Hawthorn.

I agree owdboggy many plants don't know if they are coming or going this year - but will it weaken them I wonder I have a Mock Orange coming into flower again too.

Funny you should mention your Armandii Owdboggy coz my Freckles is in flower - the blooms don't last long in the sun though

I think maybe that really warm spell we had in the late Spring, followed by the miserable , chilly wet early Summer has got them all confusticated....I hope they sort themselves out and continue to flower next Spring. It's done for most of my apple harvest too....although, confusingly, my mighty Catallac pear tree is LADEN.......the poor little tree will sink under the weight in Autumn...

My Sedums think its Autumn, Clems think its spring my Weigelia hasnt a clue.... and so has been flowering on and off since last summer, only taking about a month off in February this year when it lost a few leaves too. Its not funny how can you plan a garden when everything is so cock-eyed?

I think gardeners are going to have to rethink lots of the usual practices. When should we plant bulbs, for example? It's quite interesting if you can get your head round it! Another thrilling challenge in a changing world........

Just found two Helleborus x hybridus in flower. Photos to follow when it stops raining (Hurrah, we need it). There are also some Primula in flower too, but that is not unusual, they flower on and off all year here, every year.

Here we are then, two hellebores, taken today. I cannot get the second picture to load, nor the Pulsatilla, nor the C. Freckles. Ah well.
