Bought Jennifer a Clematis yesterday, for our anniversary, on impulse, so to speak! You've got us hooked, P!! She was well pleased with it, but what do you know about one of the 'World's first patio clematis' Fleurie? It only grows to 4ft, so I thought it would be perfect for that pot, when the other one grows enough to come out and go in the ground. Do you know much about them, P? Is it the World's first or not? It says to prune to 12 inches every spring and ideal for pots on the patio. I know Jennifer loves it, but have I done OK? Normal price was £11.99, but I got 40% off due to it just being 'launched'! Are they that new? If they are that new, why wouldn't they sell for full price? Keith

Ramond Evison was talking at Chelsea about his new range of small Clematis, designed for Patio's. He had a whole range of colours on display.

That's them, Owdboggy, thanks. ;D I must admit I hadn't seen them before, even at the g/c I had bought it from! The only thing that Jennifer was unhappy with, was the fact I had bought her something and she hadn't bought me anything! You told me we weren't buying each other pressies, just maybe a big one between us!! The flower is close to the clematis she bought a few weeks ago, so I thought she would like this one! ;D Keith

Hia Madon! Yes R Evison seems to be specialising in smaller varieties of clematis these days and although I don't know your one I have no doubt it's beautiful and will be a great success. I've always found his clematis absolutely lovely and can understand why J loves it so much (you romantic you!!) I've just looked it up - it certainly is a very new clematis so well done you for getting a bargain. www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=3373 Any chance of you sharing photos when it flowers? And in case you are interested, there's another one released this year by R Evison again, as a patio clematis, called Ooh la la!!! What a great name! ;D

I think OOh la la was there as well, but thought Jennifer would like this one better. Thanks for the web site, too. Keith
