I never got past the first page with my manual! Mind you, pages 5 - 50 are in other languages...that's the beauty of having adult offspring - what you don't know, they do!

;D But I cannot let OH get hold of it, under any circumstances! He'll memorize the lot and then eat it, and I'll have to consult him forever.... no, I must soldier on with it. :

You're right - I'm beginning to think that's the way forward. ;D The experimental ones seem fine anyway - apart from the allotment ones, which just don't convey the wilderness there. ;DG reen and more green and no sense of the area involved - that's when I have to read the flaming manual! ;D

Set on Auto, point and shoot. Allow the camera do the work for you! After a while, you can begin to play around with the other settings!! Have fun, if you make a mistake, just delete it and try again.

When I was at the GC today, saw a large photinia in the corner. Actually, nearly missed it, only saw it when we were having a bite to eat. It's about 9ft tall, maybe slightly larger. Don't know whether I should tell you it's price or not. Oh, gone on then, I will!! £149 and there were small 4/5ft ones at £49.95 in the main area, so maybe you had a bargain! Keith

It doesn't look very good in the picture, but was in quite good condition, almost grown as a tree with a good straight stem. Is yours like that, or more bushy? Keith

Must admit to feeling a bit weird taking the picture. There was a lady eating lunch at the window behind it and I just hope she wasn't looking my way when I pressed the button! As soon as I saw it, I thought of you and your dilemma and thought the price would make you feel better.

I haven't done badly then! ;D I haven't seen it for a week but it's a really healthy plant and looks about as bushy as that one too.

It arrived about midday yesterday Myrtle. ;D I've planted it out now and it looks GREAT! No matter how much I heaved this morning it wouldn't come out of the pot so I had to cut it out, but it's not potbound, not drastically anyway. : This is a photo of it yesterday, just after it arrived. It's a lovely plant, but the photo doesn't do it justice. If I'd taken a pic with it planted it wouldn't have looked great either as the sun wasn't out then and the light wasn't great. At least with Pearl in the picture as well you can get an idea of the size - the children were gobsmacked at the size of it when they first saw it; Yes, a bargain I think. ;D

Thanks. I nearly got the massive pot it was in too into the bargain but I had to cut down it to release the plant - I could tape it up though, that'd be OK, wouldn't it?

I don't see why not. You did well to manage on your own I'd have thought. (Unless you are actually 7'4" and an ex Gladiator too shy to tell us) ;D Are you going to show us a pic of it in situ?

Course I will! I've planted it about 2ft away from the wall and I think I could just squeeze another quite big thing, something not too inpenetrable, against the wall behind it. I can't wait until our garden's thick with over and undergrowth. Thanks I was quite pleased at doing it alone - I'm only 5ft 3" but very determined to get it planted without any intervention. ;D

I'll take a photo when it brightens up a bit Keith - I've got a hawthorn and two leylandii, all very young, against the wall behind it and to either side. I think they'll grow up nicely together and create a nice lush thicket.
