Mine is near Lincoln, but where is yours? At this time of year I really envy people living in the south west of the country who, I've been told sometimes don't get one frost through the winter. I used to live in the north of Scotland about 40 miles east of Inverness - I don't envy anyone living up there as it starts getting dark much earlier in the winter, and the winter seems to last for ever, and of course spring arrives much later too. Mine's on Portland - it's true, we don't get much frost here, which is great. The down side is that you can get lulled into a false sense of security, not put anything indoors over the winter and then get well and truly caught out with the frost. My kids really really want some proper snow, which we rarely get here, a right shame for them.

Our patch is roughly 30 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio, USA and roughly 100 yards from a fine water feature known as Lake Erie.

I'm in West Norfolk, a field away from Thetford Forest, right on the leading edge of the Fens. S'lovely......but very very cold in winter (there's not between us and the Arctic Circle really....apart from ocean)
