I dug up the last few rows of potatoes this afternoon. I had to heel some Buddlejas in somewhere so decided to go over the whole patch and use the space for them. Despite the fact that I thought I'd dug it really efficiently and been very careful to collect all the tubers over the summer I STILL found enough spuds to fill a crate!
I'm planning on clearing a big new bit of the orchard to extend my vegetable garden next year, so that will be my potato patch, and I didn't want spuds coming up all over the place in the old bed. I wonder how deep you have to go to get them all........They are still coming up in the PT after we put it up over my original patch years ago........
