I'm thinking of growing one of these in my back garden - www.crocus.co.uk/search/pl/?ContentType=Plant_Card&ClassID=257&CategoryID=Crocus state - Garden care: To train as a standard tree select the strongest, straightest stem, removing all of the laterals up to 0.6-1.5m (3-5ft) from the ground in winter. Alternatively, to train as a multi-stemmed tree remove stems that are growing too close together back to ground level"There are a few Amelanchiers but which one would be best to grow as a tree?

Believe it or not we bought a Snowy Mespilus in the garden centre bargain basement for £5, along with two Betula Jaquamonti(I know that's not spelt right) for £5 also. They were lovely plants but as we only stayed less than 3 years in that house and garden I never saw it in its full glory. We haven't got the room now but I think the Snowy Mespilus is beautiful.
