Its in MIL`s garden, I have never seen the flower but the seed heads are quite distinctive and she says the bees love it, its strong enough to push through concrete

That is the Mole Plant, Caper Spurge otherwise known as Euphorbia lathyrus. Beware its milky sap which is very unpleasant and can cause nasty blisters and rashes. It's as tough as old boots and will seed everywhere given half a chance.........

Hi Sweetleaf I'm not entirly sure but I think it might be a type of Euphorbia. I'm sure I had one in my garden years ago. I can't remember the bees liking it, and if I remember correctly the flowers were more like bracts than flowers. What I do remember is the seed heads burst open with a very loud pop sound. It took me ages to work out what is was. I was usaully sun bathing at the time and all I could hear was pop pop pop all around me. ;D Not sure if this helps, but it brought back some memories. A.x

Hi 4P Thats strange we both answer the same question at the same time only you were a lot quicker than me. It looks like my guess was right, although I didn't know the full name, and yes my pop pop plant self seeded everywhere.

I didn't recognize the plant but I certainly did the description! We had Caper Spurge in our garden two houses ago, it's a beautiful plant but very hard to control. The stems break very easily if you try to pull it up and before you know it you can be covered in the sap, and as 4P says, it's dodgy! Alicat's right about the seeds - they pop even if you brush against them, it's such a survivor.
