I bet everyone knows the answer to this except me. Hubby bought me a huge bag of Growmore home the other evening. Hooray, I thought. But on reading how to apply it, boo, I then thought - isn't it enough to scatter it and then water the garden? Does it really have to be raked in? Not that I'm lazy, of course but I didn't bank on having to trample over the back of the garden to reach it. I've got a plastic rake of the children's somewhere if needs must. How does everyone apply theirs?

How does everyone apply theirs? No, you can just scatter it. Growmore was developed during the war as National Growmore as a quick and cheap balanced fertiliser. I think it is 777. I would be less unsightly raked in a bit, but OK just scattered imho
