Absolutely lovely The witch. You'll find somewhere else to walk when you move though.
Funny but my grandma had a slightly different saying about gorse - she said that when gorse is in bloom it's "kissing season" - same meaning though I guess!

What a lovely place, that is! I could just picture red squirrels there, but sadly I suppose it is just the grey ones!!

Sigh...I love woods and I have walked along that very track The witch! The single most beautiful thing about this part of Norfolk is that it has abundant woods. My bit is one huge tree farm. Even when the Forestry Commission cut swathes of wood down they always replant and I think they do a good job generally. There are many very pretty wooded places round here and they are free to anyone to walk in......we are so lucky.

If it was within the last 5 years then you would have passed my house. Yes the forestry commission do a good job - they have to cut down swathes of woodland otherwise the whole wood would die at the same time, replanting ensure that won't happen.

It was before smallest was born The witch so it was over 7 years ago. My OH and I used to go all over the place then. Really good fun. These days we tend to stay more locally as the dog goes berserk in the car when we take him out so a couple of miles is more than enough!
