Biodomes should be BIG Plocket ! The whole garden needs to be about an acre really (if we are all going to fit in) ;D

Does it have to be patio, or could it be decking that went slightly over the pond?

I agree with Sweetie - we need more space. I mean, how are we going to fit the citrus house (orangery?) in, and what about the fernery, and the bog garden, and the patio/seating area has to accomodate all of us, and what about Mick's cactus house? I reckon it should be a walled garden I think the decking is a good idea, partially overlapping the pond as Keith says, but I think the main patio area should be old flag stones. They should merge somehow from one to the other. The decking could have those very small recessed lights in it - in a circle, one for each member - like the stars in the EU flag

How big's an acre then in square metres Sweetleaf?
It could be decking I suppose Madon but I thought that might encourage rats - something we want to avoid at all costs. How about we have a paved patio and then a board walk around the bog garden?

What I mean, how about something like this with an extension over the pond? BTW, are kids allowed, as a tree house would look nice amongst the trees? Keith

It is already a walled garden Sleepy - and I can't put in orangerys or cactus houses until we know which direction the sun is in!!! Tell me how wide I need to make the garden (this is some show garden!!) and I'll adjust the plan.

That's GORGEOUS decking Madon - and of course kids are allowed. I think one of the trees will have to be an Oak so that we can have a pukka treehouse - good thinking!!!

Me too Keith I love that tree house I would play in there with the kids - I always wanted a tree house but never had one. Made do with dads shed until he put a lock on it. then I made tents in the back garden. ;D

How about this idea for a pond, I think it would fit in really well with the woodland at the back. Scroll down to photo six. bigsnestpond.net/Pictures/there are also other photo's you can click on if you scroll down a bit further.
