have you any suggestions as to a brew that would give my ..........mixture........ that added ooommmppphhhh? Some 'one' has been scent marking around the wildlife pond and I am ....... replying. Weeeeeee. Yes I do! it worked last year and I thought I better 'show' you guys I am nuts! I didnt get enough of a whiff to tell if it was a fox or a cat. Do foxes scrape where they have pooped? I found a soft one that seem to have been scraped over, which all makes me thing it is a cat. The last fox one I found was firm and on concrete. I also found a dead female frog that had been opened but not eaten, sadly she hadnt spawned.

Try rubbing the juice of a halved lemon or orange around the area. And even leave some orange pel lying around. I believe that works - but I don't know how long it will last.

I get OH to wee in the bin as a compost activator - I remember starting a thread about it on the Beeb a long time ago now and some readers seemed quite shocked!!! ;D I just don't see the point in paying for or using chemicals when nature has provided the appropriate stuff for us!!!

There is nothing that keep rats out of bins or anywhere else! I have even poured used cat litter (with lumps) down rat holes only to find them still using them later...sorry, carry on.....

Sean, what colour was the poo? If it was horrible and black looking, it is more likely to be a fox. They don't have as good a diet as cats!!! Could the frog have died from natural causes and been played with by birds or the cat? Just a suggestion.
Hope this helps

Looking at The witch's useful link I reckon that your poo findings are a cross between a pig and an otter. That means it's probably a potter. Do you have any potters in the area?

Although potter poo can often be mistaken for Grizzly Bear poo.
Do you have woodland near by?
