Anybody fancy talking me through how to restart a petrol mower after a winter's lay off? I know how to start the thing but it's usually a struggle even when it's used regularly in summer....OH is out for the day so I've got to get the thing going on my ownio. Machines of any sort are often against me......please? Help?

Then prime it by pushing the rubber botton three or four times next to the engine. That will feed some fuel round to the right place.
I find that then leaving it to stand for 5 or 10 minutes helps

Personally also I find it helps to shout at it, sulk and threaten violence but I try to save that for about 3 hours after I've done the sensible stuff!

If this doesn't get it started try again a couple of times at 15 minute intervals

It's pulling the thread thing that I find most troublesome - it's hard to get the right amount of "pull" when you're only 2'6" and elderly. I've also got to don my teflon pants and stormtroopers helmet too - first time for 6 months. Hope they still fit - can you put on weight round your head? I seem to manage everywhere else Cheers Sleepy
