Well, what a weekend, it simply flew by! I managed to get the greenhouse cleaned out on Saturday and yesterday I sowed sweet peas, briza media, astrantia, begonia, busy lizzies, and geraniums. The last three are on the windowsill indoors, too cold in the greenhouse. I also tidied up loads of clematis and made a start on sorting out the rest of my seeds, I seem to have accumulated rather a lot! Heaven only knows where I'm going to put them all. The forecast for this week suggests that it might be a bit too cold to do much next weekend so I'm really pleased to have made such a good start. It was lovely and sunny too, we didn't get the fog that was forecast thankfully. It was so nice, we had a couple of bluetits investigating our nest box. They obviously think it's spring already! It would be great if all weekends were as nice!

Goodness you were busy PG - I feel exhausted now. We had a fairly lazy weekend apart from one couple viewing the house.

Oooh you have been busy Piggin. We had MIL over but we still had LP's ballet and swimming lessons, and in the afternoon my M&D popped round coz they wanted a couple of bits and bobs. I made a birthday cake for MIL (delicious it was!) and in the evening we had an early Chinese Take-Away so LP could join in. Yesterday we went to David Austin (no-one commented on my roses ) and when we got back LP helped plant hers and I potted mine up ready for when I've a suitable long-term container for it. Oh and I managed to put another coat of protector stuff on LP's garden but mum went and put a handprint in it!!!

Well, my seeds are very slow to germinate, apart from my geraniums. I sowed a packet of 11 seeds (generous with geraniums aren't they!) and 5 are up. Nothing else making any show yet but they were only sown on 4th......

I now have 6 geraniums up and some busy lizzies. I'm particularly pleased about them because I saved the seed last year. I'd never seen the busy lizzies seed before, but when we had the very hot spell last year, I think the plants went into - must produce seed quick mode. I kept finding these weird little green springs that looked a bit like caterpillars - lol. They were the seed pods. You have to pick them very carefully by their stalk because as soon as you touch the pod, they spring open making you jump!! Anyway, I sowed about half of them and have about 6 up so far. Exciting innit!!

Forecast is saying fine so I am hoping to prune the rest of my clematis plants and give them a feed, have a general tidy up, sow some more seeds, and have a little bit of HRT too (well, it has to be done).
Anyone else going to be gardening this weekend?

Hi PG - how are you ? No rain for me either. I'm hoping to get in the garden this weekend and tidy the greenhouse ready for seed planting and a general tidy up. I have been frantically tidying the house and doing washing and ironing just so I can keep the weekend free.! Although BM has other plans she wants to go swimming.

According to the Met office, it's going to be fine tomorrow and showers and sunny intervals on Sunday. I'm hoping that it will be fine enough on both days to get some jobs done. I can always nip in the greenhouse if it rains and plant some more seeds, if I can make room for them!

We are going to M&Ds tomorrow afternoon to help plant 30 odd trees in their wilderness! And it's dad's birthday so hopefully we'll take him out for a meal on Sunday, or something!
