I took a trip to Wales yesterday to check my mobile home was OK In the kitchen I could hear a kind of strange buzzing. Like a happy high pitched buzz. Looked around couldnt see anything Thought a wasp, bee or bluebottle had got in I looked up to the ceiling AND THERE WAS THIS HUGE RUGBY BALL hanging from the ceiling which had been erected just inside the vent It was a total piece of archetectoral (sp) art. I had never seen a wasps's nest before and I was in shock. It was like something out of sci fi. How do they do it - amazing. It was totally symmetrical too with a small hole at the bottom Sadly it will have to go and I couldnt stay after that

Wow! the bugs really like you don't they Jenny How nice of you to provide the wasps in your garden with a holiday home too! Who needs chandeliers ehh? What a pain tho, and an expense, money you could be spending on plants Hope the b***ers stay away in future.

Oh Jenny - you can't turn your back for one minute. A child brought an old wasps' nest into school last year - it was the size of a school desk and like you say - an absolute work of art. Imagine finding that in your loft though.

I wouldn't leave it there Jenny. If you want a nice quite w/e in your van at the end of summer you'll be sharing it with 100's of dozy wasps.

Oh my goodness JW how horrendous. I like to see the bees but I'm mortally afraid of wasps. I'd be in a blind panic and have nightmares if it was me. Glad you've gotten rid of it.

Did you see the one they cut open (wasps had all left home) on Spring Watch a couple of nights ago. How wasps build such an amazing nest with just tiny bits of chewed up wood is amazing. But then again, how birds build such intricate nests with just a beak is amazing too.

Jenny--How is the Wasp situation now? Have you managed to get 'rid' of the Nest?--I hope so because it would spoil your enjoyment for sitting out during this lovely spell of good weather.

The wasp nest in the garden had to go too - I felt dreadful about it but rather that than get stung
It was on the wall just by my annexe where the "new" doggy will live so would be in and out quite a lot

That's so kind of you Jenny. Afghan's are not small doggys - they take up a lot of room. Will your girly afghan mind - Jessie would mind very much, even if it was a relative. Glad to hear your visitors are behaving. Bet you are all having a fantastic time.
