I have a Honeysuckle that is putting on alot of growth at the moment. Can anyone tell me when it is the best time to 'prune'/cut it back? I had a very good display of flowers last year and would like the same this year. I didn't prune it last year but just let it grow its own way. Should I do the same this year? Thanks for any help or suggestions--Bigs

Well it certainly looks very green, and full of growth Biggs,if it was mine i would leave it alone now,you could be cutting off where the buds will form, but as i said,im no expert,i have one that flowers every year, and i never prune it,but it may be a diferent one to yours

They are very hardy Biggy - I had one I uprooted - it was home to the neighbourhood slugs so had to go - GF planted it in her garden and now it is bootiful It didnt mind being dragged out of the ground

I would prune it in autumn Biggles like FB said otherwise you will lose all the flowers. There are no buds on my little honeysuckle yet either.

I give mine a Spray of Systemic Rose Clear about May/June - I think Honeysuckle likes to have alot of air (ventilation) to stop Mildew! mine gets alot of that because it is in a Windy Spot-- ;D
