Got this as it took off and considering the camera was set on macro rather than speed, it has turned out well.

Was the Heron on your land? They are crafty birds because when they find a source of food they return till it has all gone-just like my big Goldfish when they got a tasty dinner! ;D Living where you do (in the countryside) I bet you get some very interesting wild-life. No, the Heron was on the River Dee at Parkgate. We do get herons over us as there is a big heronry on the Meres about 3 miles away.

Parkgate OB - isnt that near the Wirral (ish) the place where the sea comes in once every 2 or 3 years

Never mind nearish the Wirral, Parkgate is slap bang in the middle of the coast. Birthplace of Lady Hamilton and all that and Sir Richard Grenfell. Good chips and even better ice-cream from the Post Office. We go on a regular basis, just for the walk.
