It was kept in the lounge over the winter and was doing fine with some new growth but no flower buds on it until last week. It is drooping. I don't think I have over watered it and the compost isn't very dry so I don't think it needs water but I moved it back into the conservatory on Tuesday to get more light and probably more warmth to see if that helped. It hasn't - even more droopy today. The leaves are very green and shiny but wilting. Any ideas please?

Have you 'looked' at the roots? Maybe Vine-Weevil grub eating the roots?

Have you 'looked' at the roots? Maybe Vine-Weevil grub eating the roots? I hope it isn't but will have a check tonight, thanks Bigs. It was in the conservatory all last summer and was ok, the other plants out there are fine.

When I had a Greenhouse (before I moved) I always checked the roots of my plants for Vine Weevil Grubs before wintering them and then again in the Springtime. As a preventative measure I also used Pravdo Vine Weevil Killer solution before overwintering plants and then another dose late Springtime. It was worth the trouble. Do let us know how the plant recovers or otherwise ;D

Well, I had a good look last night Biggles and I think it's been overwatered. I got it out of the pot and couldn't find any sign of vine weevil but the compost was very wet at the bottom. I am going to re-plant it tonight and see how it goes but it was very sad looking last night.
It's a nice big plant as well - darn!

I hope you manage to save it B.M. ! Ive had a coupleover the years and had lovely big flowers but all of a sudden mine went! take a couple of cuttings while you can, they are quite easy to root, all I can suggest is remove as much of the compost as you can and repot! dont water for a while as you probably have root rot.

Too late Maggy, it went. On a brigter note my aloe has another 3 little babies! We were given 2 baby plants originally, we now have 7! I did like my hibiscus though, oh well, I'll try again at some stage.
