Can anyone help me to identify this Clematis please? I bought it as "Crystal Fountain" which I understood to be Blue in colour--but this one is White-with a 'Pink' centre. Although I planted it about two seasons ago it is the first time it has flowered and as usual I have mis-placed the Label! ;D

I've had a look at Taylor's website but the ones on there with a pink centre have a pink tinge/stripe down the petals. I'll keep looking.

Thanks myrtle--It will teach me a lesson to keep the labels! There are no stripes of any sort on it--it looks just like the photograph-

Thank you Maggs, OB and Jasmine for your Links for this query--I think I have found the name for it. I vaguely recall that name now. I will keep a watch on it to see if it does mutate!! "Both Clematis florida var. flore-pleno and Clematis florida var. sieboldiana have a tendency to produce mutations (sports) that make them resemble one another. You can often find the plants bearing flowers of both cultivars. Sometimes even one flower can possess characteristics of both cultivars, half of it looking like Clematis florida var. flore-pleno, and the other like Clematis florida var. sieboldiana". Yes Jenny--it is a very pretty and delicate flower- I like it! The photograph on the Link does resemble mine--or near to it--so Thanks once again--Bigs

Flipping heck. I found out what this Clematis is and then could not find this posting to give you the answer. This is a fine specimen of Clematis Miss Bateman. The green stripe is more pronounced than usual, but I have just been looking at ours and they are the same!

I've got quite a few clems - 2 of which are white. Belle of Woking and Arctic Queen. Clematis Rebecca, Crystal Fountain and Josephine are just about to come out.

Thanks OB- yes it could be that one-I will take another Close-up photograph and then compare it with the one you have. A few more flowers are opening up now so I will wait till it stops raining and have a good look. Thanks to the others for their suggestions- I have another Clematis growing but there are no signs of flowers yet- so that one will need identifying- which could be Crystal Fountain. I must remember to keep the Labels or improve my memory--Bigs
