I brought some lettuce seeds home from school for Easter and now they are seedlings and are very long and leggy. They now need to be moved to a bigger pot- how deep should I plant them? They don't look like I planted them deeply enough when they were seeds as there is so much of them above the ground. Thanks Gardenpest

Ive only got the small salad leaves G.P. and I planted them in a big square box, so I can just pick them as needed! I dont think the problem is how deep you planted the seeds, they ae probably in too dark an area and are being drawn upwards to the light. Can you get a grow bag and just plant them in there covering to just a bit deeper than they are at the moment? if you keep them in the light they will soon spread, make sure you leave enough space though depending on what kind of letuce they are Id think about 6 to 8 inches apart. I love your avatar we used to have a bunny like that when my kids were young ;D they didnt wear pancakes for hats though.
