The first of my tomatoes have shown their heads (tumbling tom red), only waiting for the sweet pepper to come through now. Courgettes are doing nicely, each day another one (or two) show their heads. Still indoors, havent put them outside yet. How are yours doing BM? Bye for now I now have 2 Sungold toms coming through, peppers & chillies not yet. My flower seeds are doing ok though, and at least I an eat the pot marigold, and use the borage in Pimms ;D

I am trying to grow a tray of busy lizzies but nothing has happened with them yet, Ive covered the tray with a newspaper to keep them in the dark. Maggy used to keep them in her cupboard until they showed through. BM they will come through I was starting to think my wouldnt then all of a sudden they all started.

Hi All Ive not done to well with my flowers, think i sowed them 2 early as i have with lots of things. Ive also had to re sow some of my veg as they were not doing very well at all. I sow all my seeds but they all go in the cold Greenhouse or in the conservatory. The conservatory is ok during the day because it gets hot but on a night its cold, but not as cold as the greenhouse. I get too enthusiastic and sow too soon. I had given up on lots of my tomatoes but they have come through now, ive still had to re sow some Ive got 2 peppers showing their heads1 aubergine 2 cucumbers, got lots of toms now, no chillies yet. I very rarely so direct unless it says to do so. Good luck everyone with your seeds, hope we all have a good year

I think we all get impatient and sow some things too early Karen. I've lost so many packets of seeds that way but I'm learning to curb my enthusiasm. Well done with your veg, hope they thrive for you. I sowed my courgette the day before yesterday. They grow like triffids once they get going so i've held off until now as I won't have room. I've quite a few tomatoes, chilies and peppers on the go. My front room bedroom window and bed are just covered in plants.

Hi everyone, havent seen my seeds since i've been away, took them round to mam and dad's to be looked after. Courgettes are doing well, dad said but my other seeds havent done much this week, maybe it isnt warm enough for them yet. Only a few of my tomatoes have still come through, dont know about my sweet chillies until I see them.

Hope they're doing well for you Tulip. Glad to hear the chillies are through for you BM. Mine are doing quite well, not huge but healthy enough looking. Potted on my Gardeners Delight today. That will be them until they're really big now and the new soil should give them a good boost.

The ones in the mini greenhouse were about 4 weeks Tulip but the ones in the airing cupboard have been 2-3, the only problem with them there - I don't rtemember to check on them!

BM when I get them back today I am going to put them outside in my grow house, I think they should be ok in there as long as we dont get a hard frost.

Tulip, how are your chillies and peppers doing?
Mine are really slow - a couple have a proper set of leaves appearing but they are tiny, the others are still as they were (or so it looks). Of the ones I put in the airing cupboard (2 each of 6 different types) only 3 germinated!
Riddles, how are yours doing? They looked so healthy in your last photographs.

Hi BM, havent been on for a while, sorry Ive just read your message, my sweet peppers are very small, only a few of them have come through, I am not growing peppers this time. Ive planted some of my courgettes into the garden and some have just started to flower. Ive also put my carrots in the garden, they are doing ok but still quite small. Ive planted three of my hanging basket tomatoes into a hanging basket. Havent had chance to plant my spring onions yet, I am just going to put them in a large ceramic pot, I havent got any more space in our garden for them. In the front garden Ive planted some tagets (dont think ive spelt that right) they go nice with my viola. Ive also planted some alecium (probably havent spelt that right either, sorry). Bye for now

How nice to hear from you Tulip--I thought you might have been so busy watering Magg's garden-- ;D You sound as though you have been busy in your garden though-Plenty going on there. Did you grow your own tumbling tomatoes or did you mange to buy a couple? I tried them once but found watering the problem (in the hanging basket) even though I mixed the water gel crystals in with the soil-- I am looking forward to some photographs of your garden-when you have time.--Bigs

Bye for now Hi Tulip, lovely to hear from you, don't worry, just post when you can. Well done, you've got plenty of things coming on. My peppers/chillies are growing now but very slowly! Toms are potted and out, carrots are growing, very small though as I only sowed them a few weeks ago directly outside. Beans are running up the canes! My courgettes are still in the packets - oops! It does say plant out directly May on the packet if you haven't started them inside - do you think they'll know it's June when I do them at the weekend, hope they haven't read the destructions, I mean instructions. Beetroot (again straight into soil) are growing well, couple of inches tall. I did Suttons hundreds & thousands in baskets last year but I made the mistake of having the one basket too small (cone shaped wicker) and it restricted the roots too much and the plant.

Hi Biggles and BM, yes Biggles I have grown my tumbling tomatoes from seed although I must say they are still quite small compared to others I have had. BM I dont think your courgettes will know we are in June now. Biggles I have loads of pictures of my garden but I dont know how to post them, will have to get other half to do it for me. All this rain we're getting saves on having to water the garden. BM Ive never tried growing beetroot before I might try some of them next year. ~Bye for now

Everyone is very productive, it's good to see. BM not too late for your courgette if you get them in soon they'll romp away for you like triffids. My Beetroot have'nt done much for me at all, can't understand why really. Peppers Chilies Tomatoes and courgette all doing well, dito parsnip carrot onions and shallots. If only we could hold on to some dry weather with a bit of heat it weould do them the world of good.

This weekend for the courgettes! I need more pots and compost.
Beetroot, beans, carrots & toms doing ok - chillies & peppers still slow but need some more warmth I think.

Tomatoes, courgettes, runners, sweetcorn, carrots and leeks all doing well. Parsnips are being a dismal failure this year - and that's after sowing 2 lots. Autumn onions also doing well but I didn't grow them from seed - I bought sets.
