I have just put mine out (only three from the seed I had sown) Do they have to be tied in as they grow or do they cling and dont need help?

I planted out some of my MG yesterday. Some have gone into the ground to replace the rose I dug out and some have gone into a pot. They seem ok this morning except for a few munched leaves on the ones that are in the ground.

Do you think it was rabbits or slugs Jasmine?

Slugs I think LG - if the rabbits liked them they would all be gone I think. I've put down some of those advanced slug pellets that aren't suppoed to harm other wildlife - I worry about the baby birds at this time of the year.

I know what you mean Jasmine, but sometimes needs must. My MG are doing really well in the mini greenhouse, they'll have to stay there for a while longer.

I think I put mine out too soon - a lot have not stood the lashings of rain and wind we have had over last few days Some of the hardy ones are oK tho -

I have sown more Morning Glorys---I only hope these 'new' ones survive-they have the first set of 'true' leaves so I think I will wait another week before putting them in the garden. LG--These are the seed you kindly posted to me--Thank you--Bigs

I've decided I've put them out too early and that they really are quite delicate little things until they get going. I should have waited a few more weeks I think.

That's a shame JW. Is it too late to start some more - I have some seed I think if you would like some? I'll double check tonight for you.
I'm still mollycoddling mine - they go out during the day but tucked up a corner out of the wind and they come in at night. They could do with being moved on but I think I will hang on for another week or so just in case.
