Did anyone see the this on channel 4 last night. I know its not that shocking and it has been covered in the media, but I find tesco attitude beyond belief. As a giant amongst retailers I thinks its down to them to lead the way where animal rights are concerned (and human rights too) The way their value chickens are farmed is down right cruel, and they don't give their customers enough credit I would happily pay more for a chicken who had a better quality of life. I am emailing tesco and i wont be shopping there again until this changes. I cant believe how slippery they've been, putting obstacles in the way of open debate, unwilling to let their shareholders read about proposals put forward regarding chicken welfare, unless Hugh footed the bill for the cost of postage! Then after a year of trying to get an interview on camera, they put him in a room with some Media hotshot more slippery than any politician, who I found very blinkered and patronizing, and in complete denial; about the misleading jargon and pictures on their chicken labels. Very disgruntled, from Birmingham.

I wanted to record it but it clashed with a couple of other recordings - my last visit to Tesco's was pretty naff anyway, animal welfare aside.....I'll see if I can catch the programme by other means......

Maybe you could share that email address on The witch's board Debbie? The more that put pressure on Tesco the better.
