Teenie Beanies are all through now. Must get them out in the lobby as they are getting a bit leggy on the window sill.

Well, mine were planted into the garden yesterday - 8 of each variety, they all germinated! I would have preferred to wait another week or so to plant them out but they would have suffered so fingers crossed the weather will not have a turn!

Flowers on both climbing varieties now and a little bean on the Painted Lady, nothing yet on emsey's beans but I have moved the pot as a pigeon took a fancy to them and I found the tops of two on the ground

Is it too late to put Runner beans in now? The two I had climbing up a Trellis have been chewed by Slugs and are no more--

Does anyone else remember planting them in a glass with water and paper at school?

Well done Biggles, it's amazing how they can pick up isn't it? We have plenty of small beans on our runners now and on the pot labelled 'Emsey's beans' - dwarf ones and emsey very kindly sent me her spare ones!

Ali--and BM-- Thanks for your encouragement re-Runner Beans. I have never grown Vegetables before either in the ground or in Containers so have been very disappointed with my efforts. I did try Parsnips last year and they too were Failures-- I will keep in touch and let you know if I get any ;D the way they are growing they are sure to be frozen!!

Had our first lot with our dinner yesterday Delicious but I have a confession............ As they have grown to the tops of the canes and entwined, I can't really tell which bean is which variety - I can when the flowers are out but that's not much use is it?
