I cant remember the name of this plant-- I used to grow this plant in my other garden and brought it with me. It always flowered (as shown)-I have forgotten the name of the plant. Since I have moved it from my other garden to this one -the leaves are now enormous but no flowers as yet. It used to be grown in an East facing border, now it is in a Northeast facing border so I dont think the position will be at fault--or will it? Any help would be appreciated--Bigs PS The photograph is of the plant in my other garden.

Yes you could be right about a Houseplant but it must be a very Hardy one because it has withstood Frost!! I bought it at a Bootsale in a small plantpot- about 3 years ago -not knowing what it was. I often do that at Bootsales ;D and take potluck!-hence not knowing the name of the plant.

The best way to propagate is to divide in early spring. You can grow from seed but I think they take quite a long time to flower. I have one in a large tub and will divide mine next spring. Hope that helps. Btw mine is East facing and did flower this year.

I looked it up in my Readers Digest Biggs it could be Spatiphllum 'Mauna Loa or Calla-Palusins 'Bog Arum' I think it is probably the latter as the first one is only hardy to 15oC the Bog Arum is frost hardy. Try Googling them and see what you think. Maggs.

Try Googling them and see what you think. Maggs. Yes I will do that Maggs- Thank you for your time in 'looking' it up. It hasn't flowered since I moved it from the other garden-maybe it is taking time to settle down--(I hope) I will let you know if it is--"zantedeschia" or "Bog Arum"-- PPS--Since I have posted this reply I have bought the Amateur Gardening Magazine (this afternoon) and what did I find in one of the articles?--yes a photograph and a 'tip' on growing this plant-- Co-incidence or what? It says they are not frost hardy and must be protected during the winter months with fleece and grow in a well protected site. It also said it can be known as a 'Bog Arum'--Thanks maggyd
