 I have two plants-Helleborus 'Niger' and Helleborus 'argutiflios' both are out growing their allotted space when is the best time to 'split and move them? Also -my son would like a cutting or root-can this be done successfully and how? Would it be better to grow them from seed or just buy some new plants? |

Yes I agree with The witch Biggs about dividing as for seedlings I pot up in spring or early summer the small plantlets that you find around the main plant or you could give him a bit of the parent plant when you dig it up to divide it.  |

Thanks for those replies. There are a couple of 'plantlets' at the base of one of them so I will wait till Spring to plant these on.
